HIDE Heya folks,
As most of you may be aware, Infrared had stepped down from staff yesterday. Cosmic Staff appreciates the hard work that 'fred put into both the Cosmic and Future grids, and we are sad to see him go.
Please rest assured that all plots will still be seen through to their conclusion, possibly with only minor changes. If anyone has any questions or anything they feel needs to be shared with us in order to help facilitate plotting, please feel free to page one of us or @mail *COSMICSTAFF.
Thank you,
Clear

HIDE Heya folks,
Effective immediately, the Cosmic Grid will no longer be accepting permanent transfers from one grid to another. What does this mean? Simply put, existing characters are welcome to seek roleplay in the Cosmic Grid, but there will be no further permanent transfers of city nativity. As a character, the majority your roleplay must be achieved on your city grid, and then additional scenes may be picked up where you have passports.
Now, if you don't have a passport for the Cosmic Grid, please send @mail to *COSMICSTAFF and we will see about getting you that passport. Until that is done, logs gained in the Cosmic Grid (from today forward) will not count toward quota (but will be back-awarded if you gain the passport).
As usual, any questions to me :)
Thanks,
Clear

HIDE The last four years or so have been rough on the Space Grid. LEGION has been racking in the money, as more and more worlds subscribe to their rent-a-protecti on, but with the GLC and DS gone, the demand has increased faster than the supply. Crime has grown more prevalent. The further you get from Cairn, the more lawless things get. Ultimately: LEGION is not enough on its own.
Kyle Rayner tried to mitigate the situation, with a short-lived attempt to found a New Corps, with new recruits. However, his hopes were dashed when his first recruit turned out to be a power-mad tyrant who used the power ring for evil. Kyle aborted his attempt, to re-evaluate whether he was capable of judging correctly who should receive the near-limitless power of the rings. His other three surviving recruits, however, proved considerably more integrity than the first, and banded together as a trio to form a small law enforcement organization themselves, dubbed simply 'The Corps'. As in, lacking the 'Green Lantern' part. (GREEN LANTERN: THE NEW CORPS #1-2)
The Darkstars were also slowly fixing themselves...so ...gradually, things seemed as if they could be looking up. This would be the general tendency from about four years ago to one year ago. Gradual healing from a massive thrashing, on the good guy side.
This brings us up to the end of year 2003. This concludes the canon history. Beginning in 2004, IC roleplay commenced. See 'news setting cosmic ichist' for events 2004+.

HIDE Rann.
The Darkstars have been receiving a pounding for some months now, from an unknown source. They decide to make a final stand on the planet of Rann, where they find themselves confronting an entity calling himself Grayven. Grayven proclaims he is the son of Darkseid. If his power levels are any indication, it might not be a false claim. Grayven and his army break the Darkstars. The battle is barely won with the arrival of Kyle Rayner, the Last Green Lantern, but the price is terrible; the Darkstars have been broken, only less than half dozen remain in operating condition. (GREEN LANTERN (vol.3.) #74-75)
Now, it's a *good* day for the bad guys. GLC gone, Darkstars broken, LEGION usurped. IC time, we're talking approximately the turn of the millennium. RL time, this 'space crunch' is roughly 1994-1996.
A Justice League contingent consisting of JLA, JLI and JLTF goes off into space at Guy Gardner's lead, to beat the stuffing out of Gardner's ancestral enemies, the Tormocks. They win, and the heroes return to Earth. (WAY OF THE WARRIOR crossover: GUY GARDNER #32-34, JUSTICE LEAGUE AMERICA #101-102, HAWKMAN #22-23, *just* before the UNDERWORLD UNLEASHED DC-wide crossover)
Dox turns the tables on his son, during UNDERWORLD UNLEASHED makes a deal with Neron and then takes LEGION back. LEGION is re-estabilished as a force for good and justice. But with the GLC and DS gone, are they enough? And has their street cred and PR been ruined by Lyrl's fascist regime? (R.E.B.E.L.S. #17, final issue)
