Our theme is quite simply the DC Universe. The primary focus of that,
however, is the planet Earth, and more specifically, the various cities that
are relevant to the comics in the timeline we have selected (for more
information on the timeline, please check "news continuity"). Within that, we
will be opening up cities as they are constructed, and focusing on the ones
that the primary DC heroes occupy, to begin with.

The world is one that is much like our own. People still get up, go to
jobs, and handle their day to day lives. Military tensions still exist, and
in almost all aspects it is the same as the "real world" we live in. That
difference is the existance of superbeings. While there have been supernatural
and superpowered beings throughout the history of this world, they have only
become known to the general public within the last century.

Their existance has not radically changed the world; people still live
as they do in our world, but they are somewhat awed and impressed by these
beings of power that walk among them. They are instant celebrities, be they
hero or villain, and the media and populace tend to be fascinated by them.
(There is nothing here that corresponds to the anti-mutant hysteria in
Marvel such a mindset would be totally foreign to the populace in the DCU).

Our players here take the role of superbeings in this world, be they
heroes or villains. They also play the normal beings who interact with them
on a daily basis (DC has _LOTS_ of interesting humans like Lois Lane, Jimmy
Olsen, Alfred Pennyworth, Perry White, and more just like them.) From there,
characters can pursue their goals, for good or ill. Roleplay is our main
purpose and goal here. We're not here to beat on other characters or see how
many things we can kill, but rather to explore our characters, and have a fun
time in doing so.
